Primers

  • Primer 28 (Rigid or Flex)

Primer 28 is a one-component primer used primarily for concrete substrates and other inherently dust prone applications. It is available in Rigid or Flexible formulations. It is a moisture-cure solvent based polyisocyanate which is reduced 3:1 using Xylene, Naptha Aromatic 100, Butyl Acetate or MEK. This primer may be also formulated with zinc to provide galvanic protection when used in industrial metal assemblies. It is ideal for polyurea or polyaspartic topcoats which require high performance adhesive characteristics. It is normally used in demanding environments such as coastal marine, industrial chemical processing and oily water treatment plants where superior adhesion is required. Top-Coats include SuperSkinSytems’ polyurea coatings as well as other top coating systems such as uethanes, enamels or acrylics. If application surface retains extensive corrosion, normal forms of media blasting is recommended to create a secure surface preparation. PRIMER 28 is applied in thin coats and quickly flashes off to a dry-tacky touch in minutes depending on relative humidity and temperature. If the primer becomes totally dry or exceeds the max working application window of 24 hrs then a quick recoat will be necessary. Top coating must be applied to the primer while in a tacky wet to tacky dry state.

  • Primer 30

Primer 30 is a unique single component multi-purpose penetratrating primer to be used to support all SuperSkinSystems’ topcoat systems. It provides excellent sealing capabilities on porous and non-porous substrates such as concrete, wood, stucco, metals, fiberglass, non-glazed tile, old painted surfaces, oxidized epdm membranes, masonary, plaster, etc. The primer is ready to use and does not require the use of solvents such as Primer 28. Material fast cure Mek 1:1 slow aromatic 100. It is very robust and versatile and can be applied to not so perfectly prepped surfaces although the sufaces still be cleaned from contaminates such as oils, loose debris, dirt, waxes, etc. In general, this all-purpose primer delivers optimum adhesive characteristics combined with an extended window of application time prior to the application of topcoats. This primer may also be formulated with corrosion inhibitors is desired. • Sealer-9

Sealer-9 is a flexible one-component 9% NCO isocyanate based sealer used primarily for sealing concrete and other porous cementuous substrates. It provides a tough moisture-curing penetrating film which may be solvent reduced up to 40% using Xylene, Naptha Aromatic 100, Butyl Acetate or MEK.

Sealer-9 is applied in thin wets coats and quickly flashes off to a dry-tacky touch in minutes depending on relative humidity and temperature. Please contact our technical support group for specific substrate application procedures, equipment, safety gear and clean-up kits. Refer to SDS for material and safety standard procedures.

  • WBE-2 Primer

WBE-2 Primer is a clear or pigmented fast drying two-component aliphatic epoxy primer designed to promote excellent adhesion performance with no odor during interior application. It is available in hard or flexible formulations. It may be directly topcoated using many SuperSkinSystems coatings within a 48 hours period.

WBE-2 Primer may be used on many substrates such as steel, aluminium, fiberglass, concrete masonary and wood. It also may be formulated to include anti-corrosive properties for all oxidizing substrates. This special formulated primer may be applied to slightly damp surfaces. Full cure is achieved under normal conditions in 24 hours.
