Primer 30
Quick Overview
Primer 30 is a unique single component multi-purpose penetratrating primer to be used to support all SuperSkinSystems’ topcoat systems. It provides excellent sealing capabilities on porous and non-porous substrates such as concrete, wood, stucco, metals, fiberglass, non-glazed tile, old painted surfaces, oxidized epdm membranes, masonary, plaster, etc. The primer is ready to use and does not require the use of solvents such as Primer 28. Material fast cure Mek 1:1 slow aromatic 100. It is very robust and versatile and can be applied to not so perfectly prepped surfaces although the sufaces still be cleaned from contaminates such as oils, loose debris, dirt, waxes, etc. In general, this all-purpose primer delivers optimum adhesive characteristics combined with an extended window of application time prior to the application of topcoats. This primer may also be formulated with corrosion inhibitors is desired. Please contact our technical support group for specific substrate application procedures, equipment, safety gear and clean-up kits. Refer to MSDS for material and safety standard procedures.
Technical Application Data
Primer 30 may be applied within temperature ranges from 50°F to 100°F. This primer has working time window of 30 minutes before dry. Once dry, topcoats may be applied up to 24 hours. Substrate Surface Penetration
As always, preparation of substrate surface prior to the application of a SuperSkinSystem is extremely important to achieve proper system bonding.
Concrete must be fully cured and should be cleaned with a high pressure steam cleaner combined with an alykaline detergent wash solution or secured with a sandblasting or shot-blasting procedure depending on the severity of the concrete surface condition. After surface cleaning a thorough rinsing procedure must be completed to remove residual cleaning agents. Power blow drying then natural evaporative air drying is usually a sound procedure to eliminate moistuere. For patching, use our calcium carbonate filled fast-set Acrylic Modified Epoxy applied by trowel. For expansion joints, use our Joist Seal applied by hand cartridge dispensing gun.
Metals must be prepared and standardly preped to be clean and free of contaminants. Please call or email our Technical Support Group for any questions regarding material, application or prospective uses.
